seniorfitAging is the inevitable process of human's life. It is associated with physical atrophic changes - decrease in functional abilities and strength, increase of fat deposits, increased tissue inflammation, loss of skeletal muscle mass and bone density (Lean Body Mass), osteoporosis, fractures and injuries. This leads to poor performance of daily activities for many aging adults.
This consequence of aging is known as Sarcopenia. To prevent the negative health effects of Sarcopenia different pharmaceutical and supplement treatments are implemented. Unfortunately they have not proved to be effective and either lacking or providing limited efficacy, along with the potential negative health consequences.
Resistance training has proved as the most effective and safe method to prevent the negative effects of Sarcopenia by increasing functional abilities, muscle mass and strength in aging adults.
